I'm working all day today, going through 19th century wage records page by page, so I'm kind of bored, hence two posts in one hour.

This one's about the Oscars.

I am ecstatic that Avatar did so poorly. I was sure it would win all kinds of awards. Fortunately, I was wrong. This doesn't mean the awards corresponded with what I thought they should be though. So, here are my picks for the big awards:

Best Picture: Up In the Air
Best Director: Kathryn Bigelow
Best Actor: Colin Firth
Best Actress: Carrie Mulligan
Supporting Actor: Cristoph Waltz
Supporting Actress: Anna Kendrick
Adapted Screenplay: Up In the Air (deserved), An Education (desired, cuz I just wanted Nick Hornby to have an Oscar)
